Selecting, copying, and pasting can be tricky when you're working on a laptop without a mouse, or simply working from a smaller screen. Use the keyboard to simplify the process:
Select All:
Ctrl + A
To select everything in a given range without messing with your laptop's track-pad or mouse, simply click once inside the selection, hold Ctrl and push the letter A.
Copy:
Ctrl + C
To copy what you just selected without accidentally deselecting it, hold Ctrl and push the letter C.
Paste:
Ctrl + V
To paste what you just selected, (while the selection is still active) hold Ctrl and push the letter V.
Cut:
Ctrl + X
To cut a selection, hold Ctrl and push the letter X.
