Course Title: TECHNOLOGY HELP DESK
Grade level: 10th -12th grade Prerequisites: No other graduation-required courses should be available to enroll in, 2.5 Cumulative GPA, completion of online application form, acceptance into course by the Technology Integration Specialist and Principal, permission from guardian and ability to transport oneself to and from Cuba Elementary School for morning period classes Credit: .5 or 1 Semesters: 1 or 2 This course is designed to involve students in our district technology operations and provide hands-on experience with tasks and projects in the field of Information Technology. Help Desk students will assist the Technology Integration Specialist in either the Elementary or Middle/Senior High School buildings by providing teachers and students with level 1 tech support, creating technology training, web page design, routine hardware maintenance and management, and occasional assistance with network infrastructure. Students are required to submit an application to be considered for enrollment in the course by each semester’s deadline, and then be accepted to the course. Students may only enroll in a total of two semesters of the student help desk. A maximum of one credit from the Student Help Desk may be counted towards graduation. The course is graded pass/fail. This course credit does not count towards GPA. |
