Printing at School
About PaperCut
We use PaperCut to manage printing at school. PaperCut is based on our user accounts. If the program doesn't recognize a user (for example, the "student" account), it will not allow you to print. PaperCut can track who is printing from where, what they're printing, how many copies they print, and also limit the number of pages. High school and middle school students have a limit of 100 pages per semester. We may reduce that number even further in the future as Google Drive becomes more integrated.
If you run out of pages before the semester is up, and you need more, you may be asked to purchase them in the office.
Now, instead of your print job coming straight out of the printer when you click, "Print," it will be "held" until you physically go to the printer and release it. To release your print job, you must swipe your ID (lunch) card at the Print Release Station, which is the laptop sitting near the printer.

After your card has been successfully swiped, your print list page will appear on the screen:
Use the computer touchpad/mouse to select the document(s) they wish to print. You may "Print All" documents, or "Cancel All" documents using the buttons below your list. Only your documents that have been sent to the printer in the last 6 hours will show in this list. Any document older than 6 hours will be automatically canceled.
