1. Get set on Google Drive:
2. Create a folder in Google Drive
- Google Drive still confusing? Now's the time to get it all figured out- right here, today. It's not going away!
2. Create a folder in Google Drive
- Name it: Lastname Portfolio 2014-15
You may also want to create folders for Domains 2 and 3 and their subcomponents. There may be crucial artifacts that perhaps weren't observed on your specific observation day that you still want to document.
4. Begin dragging existing items into their proper place.
- If you do not want to move that item for fear of not being able to find it, you can make a copy of it, and move the copy.
- If the item is not yet in Google Drive, Upload it. (Think back to our last PLC meeting where we practiced doing this.)
5. Share the "Lastname Portfolio 2014-15" folder with your building administrator:
- On the left hand navigation menu in Google Drive, click on that folder to open it (don't click to open any other folders from there. We want to share the top-most folder in that hierarchy (blue "Share" button at the top of the screen).
- Your admin will receive one email saying that you have shared a folder with them, but they will not receive any notifications for any future changes you make to that shared folder...
so...
You can also choose to share your portfolio as soon as you create it if you'd like. Then it'll be ready to go whenever you need it to be. - Anything you drag into or add to this shared folder will be automatically shared since it's inside the shared folder. Admin will not receive new notifications when you make modifications.
Your folder is shared with your building administrator, but instead of it going to sit on a shelf for years, you still have access to it since it lives in your Google Drive. However, after you submit, you do not want to make changes in case there is any question about what you submitted.
- Create the folder scheme for next eval cycle (e.g. Webb Portfolio 2016-17), and include all of the sub-domains and components.
- Make a copy of each artifact that you want to potentially re-use for future evaluations, and then drag that copy into the next year's portfolio.
NOTE: Copied items are in no way linked to the originals. They are separate documents. If you update one, the other will not automatically update. - As you create and accumulate materials, you can be placing them into your portfolio for next time.
