Chromebooks...
- operate using your CUSD#3 email account - it's what you use to sign in.
- contain all of the information and data that you already have in your CUSD#3 Google account (email, documents, presentations, pictures, etc.).
- also contain any information you have accumulated when signed into the Chrome browser (bookmarks, apps, extensions).
- operate using an internet connection, though can do some things "offline" like access, create, and edit documents and other files.
- do not support third party software like Microsoft Word, Photoshop, etc
- use "apps," which are online pieces of software (just like on a smartphone). Most are free; some are not.
- are very nimble computers that are simple to use. If you encounter a problem, most of the time rebooting solves it. (Yay!)
Ask me...
- Um, how do I turn it on and plug my stuff into it?
- What happens if we have an internet outage? Am I dead in the water?
- Can I use my projector with the Chromebook?
- I need Microsoft Office- how will I use this Chromebook as a replacement for my PC?
- I have a ton of stuff on my PC- how will I get it off of there onto my Chromebook if it doesn't have a "My Documents?"
- If I have to work on Google Docs now, how can I access and edit them when I'm not on my Chromebook?
- Can a Chromebook print?
- Others?
